Nine 'start up' companies in 16 years has got to come with some great stories! It comes with some scars too. It is those stories and scars that have kept audiences engaged in 16 countries.
In 1980 Troy left Grammar School in Brisbane. After a string of jobs that included a junior manager with Myers, working in the family fishing tackle business, radio announcer, and media executive he decided to head out on his own in private enterprise. He quit his job, and with no prospects of work, had a week off and promptly went into renovating houses, which was a bit unusual for a man who didn't know one end of a hammer from the other. The property game allowed him to get into his first real business, with all profits from the thirteen properties going straight back into equipment, furniture and staff to ramp up the business.
Since then he has worked as a business consultant for hundreds of franchise and multinational brands and set up contacts around the world for information exchange and strategic alliances. To add to this resource, he has served on the international board of the Young Entrepreneurs' Organisation (YEO) serving a term as the Director for Asia Pacific and Director of International Marketing and Communications. YEO is an international business group with 5500 members in 38 countries and 116 cities. He is currently the International President Elect for the World Entrepreneur’s Organisation serving on the Entrepreneur’s Organisation (EO) global board. EO is the premier, peer-to-peer, global community, network and resource for the entrepreneurs, with more that 5,500 members worldwide in 120 chapters and 40 countries.

The show launched and delivered a massive 222% increase in viewership for the Sunday morning timeslot. ‘I think it’s a great start for the series and I love the lifestyle angle the show takes. After all your business life and your personal life should not be two different things given you spend so much time in life doing what you do to earn a living. Everyone should love what they do, if they don’t then maybe they should consider getting into business for themselves and telling the boss ’they won’t be in Monday’, said Troy, ‘I’m loving working with the team on the show, it’s been a lot of fun’.
