Pianist/vocalist Julie Mason (B.Mus.) has 20 years experience in the New Zealand music scene. Most renowned as a jazz artist, she has performed extensively throughout New Zealand, appearing at all the major festivals and performing with the country’s foremost jazz musicians. She has performed with top Australia musicians at the Manly Jazz Festival, Sydney and Magnetic Island Tropical Jazz Festival, Queensland. She has been a regular artist at Auckland’s Montana Winter Jazz Series, and has presented sell out concerts at Auckland’s Aotea Centre with “The First Ladies of Jazz”. Julie performs with her own band as a solo, duo with husband Phil Broadhurst, 3 or 4 piece and can do background music or be the main entertainment for the evening, or both.

Karen graduated with a BA and Law degree from Victoria University and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 1987. While she lived in England in the mid 1980s, she worked as a lawyer in Cornwall and, on her return to New Zealand, she commenced practice as a solicitor with a large legal firm in 1989.
In the early 1990’s Kathy became one of the country’s top producing travel consultants, then later developed her own travel wholesale business with franchised branches. Within a few challenging years she’d “lost the lot”.
