Greg Murphy

Greg Murphy is a New Zealand motor racing legend.

Greg Murphy is best known as a four-time winner of the Bathurst 1000, winning in 1996, 1999, 2003 and 2004 and held the fastest lap record at Mt Panorama for 7 years.

In February 2009, Greg joined Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond presenting Top Gear Live, when it had its first international Live show at ASB Showgrounds in Auckland and again when the show returned in 2010 with James May replacing Richard Hammond.

In 2013 he won the V8SuperTourer Sprint Series and Overall Championship, which was his first Championship win in 17 years - a feat he repeated in 2014 again winning the V8SuperTourer Sprint Series and Overall Championship for the second year in a row. Greg also finished second in the Sandown 500 with James Courtney.  His name has always been linked with Holden.

He retired from racing at the end of 2014 and joined the V8 Media Team for 2015.  He still takes punters for "Hot Laps with Murph" at various tracks around New Zealand.
