Actor, comedian, creator of comic characters and great Master of Ceremonies.

Mark Wright is an actor, comedian, entertainer and raconteur. He graduated from the NZ Drama School some 20 years ago and worked extensively in professional theatre before embarking on a successful television career.
Appearing in the ‘Billy T James Show’ ‘Issues’ with McPhail and Gadsby, ‘That Comedy Show’ ‘Comedy Central’ and ‘Newsflash’. He has also graced our screens in ‘What Now’, ‘Shortland Street’, ‘Celebrity Squares’, ‘The Mean Team’ on Sports night and more recently in ‘Amazing Extraordinary Friends’. Mark has won two NZ Film and Television awards both for Best Performance. He is also a talented improvisor, being a regional, national and international Theatresports champion. He has represented NZ at Improv festivals in Sydney, New York and Amsterdam.
At present Mark is in high demand as a corporate MC/Host and conference facilitator. Seen just recently as ‘Willy Mossburn’ at the Air NZ Leadership Conference in Queenstown. Despite all of this, Mark is perhaps most well known as New Zealand’s original “Odd Fellow”. He is also well known for his impersonations of Ruth Richardson, Richard Long, Bill Ralston and entire Scottish families, Mark Wright is one of New Zealand's best-known actors.
Since graduating from Drama School in 1985, Mark has had numerous roles in television comedies, including The Billy T James Show, That Comedy Show, Laugh Inz, Comedy Central and Issues. He is a frequent guest on a number of other television shows and news anchor Leonard Foxx on Newsflash. Mark is not limited to television; he was the show-stopping narrator in The Rocky Horror Show in 1995. In 1994 Mark won the NZ Film and Television Award for the Best Performer in an Entertainment Programme for his work on Issues, and in 1996 he won the same award along with Willy de Wit for their work in the Mean Team on TVNZ's Sports night.
