John Cocks - "Cocksy"

Cocksy is possibly NZ's most well known builder.
A builder for more than 20 years, Cocksy has worked as a building consultant on My House, My Castle, Hot Property, Groundforce, Changing Rooms, April's Angels and How Did You Do That?. Other TV roles have included the first Celebrity Treasure Island (which he won), Superstar Treasure Island and Cocksy's Day Off.

John Cocks was also the face and voice behind Carters Building Supplies advertising for more than a decade and hosted DIY ladies evenings at Carters Building Supplies stores.

If he is not building and designing houses, Cocksy loves being out and about. He is a former Thames Valley Colts rugby representative, a keen surfer and fisherman, and is generally up for anything that involves engines, noise or speed. Like most hard working New Zealand males, he likes to make the most of his days off. John talks on a variety of subjects including how he got to be on TV and insights as to what goes on behind the scenes; some anecdotal building site stories full of antics and mischief. John Cocks always writes a humorous poem for each event, tied around the theme or the people attending.

In March 2017 Cocksy revealed publicly he has terminal cancer.  He is more than happy to talk about that, mens health in general or his life as a builder and in TV.  Always funny and good value, let John add a bit of blokey humour to your event.
