Jonathan was born and raised in Hawkes Bay and has been a lawyer for 20 years. He was also a radio announcer for Radio Windy for 3 years – the pay was better than the law for a while! He is currently practicing as a Barrister and has been a Crown Prosecutor for the last 10 years. He has prosecuted high profile cases including Jules Mikus and the Tukuafu Brothers (longest jury trial in NZ history at 30 weeks!). A gifted musician, Jonathon is an entertaining speaker.
Josh Kronfeld is a former rugby reprentative of Otago, the Highlanders and Leicester at first-class level, as well as being one of the more memorable All Blacks of the 1990's. During his international career, Kronfeld played in 56 games for the All Blacks, gaining 54 test caps, including appearances at both the 1995 and 1999 Rugby World Cups.
Karen graduated with a BA and Law degree from Victoria University and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 1987. While she lived in England in the mid 1980s, she worked as a lawyer in Cornwall and, on her return to New Zealand, she commenced practice as a solicitor with a large legal firm in 1989.
As a professional entertainer for 15 years, John uses character, comedy, hoaxes, magic juggling and trickery, in fact almost anything to get the message across. He can create a suitable ‘hoax” character to fit in with the theme of your evening and your industry and deliver a believable address. An excellent MC and now used extensively by clients to give a ‘closing wrap up’ at the end of their conference – to tie the whole conference together.
John has now retired from competitive international rugby with the Wallabies. A truly great sporting personality.
John Hart spent 30 years with Fletchers and ultimately became Group Employee Relations Director, responsible for leading the development and co-ordination of the Human Resource function for Fletcher Challenge’s international operations. John played a major role in the New Zealand Rugby scene in the period 1987-1991 as an All Black Selector and Coach. He is widely acknowledged as the architect of New Zealand’s pre-eminence in Rugby in the late 1980’s. His motivational, man-management skills and vision have been recognised worldwide.

An outstanding teambuilder and motivator, John Adshead was engaged by Michael Fay’s America’s Cup Challenge to manage and co-ordinate the team. He received wide acclaim for his involvement in the New Zealand challenge and as crew motivator and confidante he played a key role in maintaining morale under high pressure conditions.
Formerly a journalist on radio and TV, where he was Chief Parliamentary Reporter, he moved to public relations in 1987 and built a reputation for the quality of his work and his professional leadership firstly at Consultus, then at the NZ Tourism Board, Ogilvy & Mather and ECNZ as Corporate Relations Manager. His background is in journalism, public relations, corporate communications and marketing communications including media training, corporate advisory and mentoring, public speaking and training.
Carol Hirschfeld is a well known TV personality who transfers her communication skills easily to the podium to MC at a very professional level.
Several of these companies have grown to be international with significant operations outside New Zealand. Jenny is a chairman and director on several boards and past directorships include amongst others NZ Trade & Enterprise, Trust Bank NZ Ltd, AgResearch Ltd, The Rural Bank and NZ Rail Ltd. She has been a member of the Council of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand, the New Zealand Arts Council, and the Government's ICT Taskforce. She is Chairman of the Hi Tech Association which organises the Hi Tech Awards in New Zealand and a Trustee of the Jayar Charitable Trust. Prior to No 8 Ventures, Jenny’s background was in investment banking, including setting up Morel & Co Ltd, an investment bank which specialised in technology companies.
